Melanie initially completed a nursing degree before completing a medical degree in 2013. She has previously worked in numerous public hospitals across Perth and Brisbane including experience working in psychiatry, various medical inpatient units and surgical subspecialities. She then spent a few years working in adult emergency which is where she realised general practice was the right fit for her as she loved the variety of ED but wanted more continuity of care and ongoing patient relationships which emergency could not offer.

She also spent time working in paediatric emergency and realised she also had a great love for treating children, being a mother to 2 young daughters herself.
Since becoming a GP, Melanie has loved all aspects of general practice and enjoys treating patients from across all ends of the lifespan. She enjoys looking after entire families and forming trusting relationships with her patients.

In her spare time she enjoys taking her spoilt German shepherd to the park, taking her children on fun adventures and going running.
