Dr Mathew Joseph became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Physicians in 2018, having completed specialist training in Adult Medicine and Geriatrics at The Princess Alexandra Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, Redcliffe Hospital and The Greenslopes Private Hospital. He also holds a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine. Dr Joseph completed his MBBS from Manipal Academy of Higher Education and trained further as a registrar in General Medicine and Geriatrics in the UK and Australia. He moved to Brisbane in 2007.

During his training years in Brisbane, Dr Joseph was also actively involved in teaching medical students through the University of Queensland, and as Associate lecturer with UQ. He participated regularly in undergraduate clinical examinations. He also assists Basic Physician Trainees with FRACP clinical examination preparation, including trial exams.

He currently holds a public Staff Specialist appointment with Queensland Health at Logan Hospital, and consults as Specialist Physician and Geriatrician at Gympie Road Medical practice,at Lawnton fortnightly. His areas of interest are Geriatric Medicine including comprehensive geriatric assessment, dementia, stroke, orthro-geriatrics, rehabilitation Medicine, Adult Medicine and Palliative Care.
