Dr William Bay grew up in Central Queensland, before moving to Brisbane to study Business. After a brief sales and marketing career, William completed his Masters of Education and took up various English Lecturer roles, and a Visiting Professorship in South Korea where he also met and married his future wife Jasmin.
After several years of living abroad William returned home to Australia to study medicine at Monash University in Melbourne and West Gippsland, Victoria.
During that time William found a new joy in the birth of his 2 sons and a new hobby in marathon running.
Since then, he has completed his Internship at Rockhampton Hospital and his Residency at Redcliffe Hospital. William has been involved in a wide range of Specialties including – but not limited to – General Medicine, Emergency, Palliative Care, Rehabilitation, and Intensive Care.
Following this work William decided it was time to formalise his General Practice training under the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Being already familiar with the North Brisbane area after working as an After Hours Deputised GP for several years, he joined the Gympie Road Medical Centre team in 2020 working as a General Practice Registrar.
William looks forward to reconnecting with his past after-hours patients and getting to know his many new patients as well.
