Lon Rose was born in Mackay and grew up in Central Queensland. He joined the army in 1998, spent time with the Defence Force serving in Queensland, Northern
Territory, Victoria and the ACT, in infantry, artillery, army aviation, and now health. Prior to studying medicine, Lon was an aerospace Engineer working on the Army’s helicopters.
Lon obtained his Medical Degree at the University of Sydney and spent his internship and residency in Sydney working at Northern Sydney Hospitals, including Northern Beaches. Lon has joined the Gympie Road Practice this year, and is also serving the public as an Australian Defence Force Doctor.
Lon is a father of four teenagers and has a strong interest in mental health, emergency and men’s health. He is a big fan of a robust philosophical debate and promises his wife that he will finish studying “one day”.
